Car Rental

A rental car with unlimited mileage will be available for you during your stay in the Faroe Islands.

To secure the reservation, you will need to send your credit card information to the relevant rental company. They will take a deposit of DKK1000, which will be returned to you in full if the conditions below are complied with. The process will be further explained through emails.

The car has a full tank of gas, and if you need more, then Visit Faroe Islands will cover your fuel expenses as long as you remember to save the receipts and send us a copy of them. You can either bring them to our office before you leave, or send them to us in an email afterwards as a PDF attachment.

Please note that if you do not provide the receipts, we won’t be able to refund your gas expenses.

Remember! The car is your responsibility!

The car is insured, but if there is any damage the rental company has the right to charge your credit card up to 3000 DKK for liability. Likewise, if there is excessive dirt or any garbage left in the car, the company may charge you for additional cleaning.

Also remember to refill the gas tank car before you return the car to the rental company.

If the tank is not filled upon return, the car rental company will charge your credit card for the fuel, and a service fee will be added for them having to fill it for you.

The car must be returned to the same place where it was picked up, unless otherwise stated. Delivering it to another location will incur additional charges. The car must be returned in the same condition it was in when it was collected – both inside and outside.

Visit Faroe Islands does not cover these extra expenses for you.
